...Hallyu began roughly 12 years ago when the rest of Asia discovered Korean soap operas. One of the breakthrough dramas was a series 'Winter Sonata' starring Choi Ji-woo & Bae Young-Joon. Diary of the lady MC at Tokyo Dome Event - Part 3
Let’s talk about the rehearsal on 30th.
About YJ reading out the poem,
I thought there was only talking plus moving around, and that was it.
Suddenly YJ mentioned to me
Y (YJ), T (Kim Tei)
Y : While reading out the poem, is it ok not to use Japanese?
T : It doesn’t matter. Family members will be very happen just listening to YJ’s voice. It will be easier to express YJ’s emotions and feelings.
Y : It was indeed prepared to be read out in Japanese, but because of hospitalization, there was no way to practice.
T : Can we talk about this in the event?
Y : No, it’s ok not to mention.
(In the end, this was not mentioned in the event, should be no problem for me to mention here, right, YJ?)
Y : Here, walk in front, and how about sitting down? This is also in the content of the poem.
T : Very nice. I am sure family members would like YJ to be closer to them, they will be very delighted.
Did the actual event follow the rehearsal exactly?
Of course, basically it did follow, but not all the time.
Like this “moving around while reading the poem”, YJ thought of it himself, only to show his feeling to everyone.
I thought after the event, my personal opinion is that the poem would be better if read in Korean, it is also the most straight forward language used by YJ to express himself.
