The main cast for an upcoming human drama pic has been revealed today, according to the film's distributor Synergy on Thursday.
Synergy announced in a press release that Korean actors Kim Myung-min, Ahn Sung-ki and actress Ara have been cast in the new film titled "Pacemaker" which cranked in on Monday.
"Pacemaker," a directorial debut for musical director Kim Dal-joong whose works include "Thrill Me" and "Hedwig and the Angry Inch," tells the inspiring story of marathon runner Joo Man-ho (Kim) who runs at a set pace but decides to break that record with the help of pacemaker Park Seong-il (Ahn), while Ara will play the role of Yoo Ji-won, a pole jumper.
"I think that 'Pacemaker' will be an uplifting and emotional movie for the audience and I feel really great about this film because I will reflect on my experiences from my past movies to play Joo Man-ho," Kim was quoted as saying.
"Pacemaker" will be shot in various cities in South Korea including Daegu, Daejeon and Jeju Island as well as London and is scheduled to open in local theaters later this year.
