SEOUL: Korean superstar Bae Yong Joon announced Tuesday that he is preparing to groom a male idol group which will debut next year, reported Korean media.
"Some members have already been selected through auditions ... We plan to pick more members.
"However, there are still no detailed plans about how many members there will be and when exactly they will debut," said a spokesperson for KEYEAST Entertainment, a talent management company of which Bae is a major shareholder.
A KEYEAST official revealed that Bae, who is best known for playing the male lead in the hit drama "Winter Sonata", had been studying how to enter the music industry for some time and preferred to "gradually ease into it".
Bae is no newbie to the music industry.
He is credited for signing popular K-pop star Kim Hyun Joong and had been the producer for Kim's new album "Break Down".
