Gong Yoo will meet with fans on Sunday at a special event celebrating the 10th anniversary of his debut, according to his management company Fantagio.
The event will offer a sneak peek at Gong's new film "The Crucible", to be released Sept. 22, and short clips from the 32-year-old's career in film and television.
"Through this fan meeting, I want to look back on the past 10 years of my career", Gong was quoted as saying in a press release. "I hope I won't forget the first day of my life as an actor".
After making his debut in 2001, Gong appeared in many dramas including "Coffee Prince" (2007), which made him a big star in Japan.
But he disappeared from the public eye in January 2008 when he enlisted in the Army to complete his mandatory military service.
Despite his two-year hiatus from the entertainment industry, Gong is still widely beloved by many fans, especially in Japan. The actor signed a deal with Japan-based EMI Music Japan in June, which will help him advance into the Japanese market.
The event will be held in Mapo District, central Seoul.
