Korean thriller "Howling," starring actors Lee Na-young and Song Gang-ho, has been sold to film distributors in seven countries.
The movie’s promoter All That Cinema announced on Thursday that “Howling” has been sold to five Asian countries -- Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei -- and two European countries -- Germany and France.
In addition, with the inquiries continuing from various Asian, European and Middle Eastern nations, more results are expected from the Hong Kong International Film and TV market that will be held in March.
“The high expectations for Song Gang-ho’s performance, and the fact that the movie deals with a serial murder using a wolf-dog, seems to have piqued foreign buyers’ interest,” All That Cinema said in a statement.
Directed by multiple-award-winning Yoo Ha, “Howling” stormed its way up to the top of the chart after attracting over 530,000 moviegoers during the third week of February in local cinemas based on data by Korea Box Office Information System.
