On April 19th, it was announced that film “Ai to Makoto” (to hit theaters on June 16th) was exclusively invited to be shown at France’s very own Cannes Film Festival from May 16th to the 27th, and will be a part of their midnight showing.
For Miike Takashi (51) director, this will be the second time 2 years in a row that he will be showing his movie in the Cannes Film Festival. He commented, “I believe I made a movie only the Japanese can make. It would be great if the guests at Cannes could enjoy this movie.”
Lead actor Tsumabuki Satoshi (31) followed up by adding, “It would be great if we can convey a message that there are people in Japan who are trying out interesting endeavors.”
