A sequel to blockbuster movie "G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra," featuring top Korean actor Lee Byung-hun, will open in local theaters this June.
BH Entertainment announced in a press release this morning that the sequel to "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" is on the way to make its premiere in Korea on June 21, which is eight days ahead of its opening date in North America.
Starring Channing Tatum, Bruce Willis, Dwayne Johnson, the pic will tell the story of how the remaining Joes fight back when Cobra spy Zartan (played by Arnold Vosloo) assassinates most of them. In the movie, Lee will reprise his role as Storm Shadow.
Lee Byung-hun, one of Korea's most well-recognized actors and a household name in Japan, made his Hollywood debut through “G.I. Joe" by playing Storm Shadow in 2009 .
He is currently busy shooting his first historical film "I am the King of Joseon" alongside his labelmate actress Han Hyo-joo.
