Chun Jung Myung is a newly minted Hallyu actor. According to reports from local news agencies, Chun Jung Myung has been cast in a Chinese drama as the main character. For this piece of work, the actor is expected to shine in the spotlight as the focus will be on him and his talents.
The report also quoted a Chinese entertainment official as saying, “Dramas in Chun Jung Myung’s body of work have become popular in China. With this new Chinese drama, it is expected that Chun Jung Myung will gain even more popularity and will cement his position as a rising Hallyu star.”
The actor is set to participate in a press conference at the end of May. He is expected to stay the next two months in China to dedicate himself to filming. As is practice, Chinese dramas are usually made through the pre-production system, which means the dramas are filmed completely before airing. Thus, his drama is slated for broadcast in the latter part of 2012.
Earlier in the month, Chun Jung Myung tweeted, “I’m on my way to China. Please cheer me on my first step towards becoming a world star.”
Chun Jung Myung co-starred with Park Min Young and Lee Jang Woo in 2011’s “Glorious Jane.” After he finishes filming his Chinese drama, he is expected to resume activities in Korea.
