The disaster in Japan have brought the attention of everyone across the world. Japan experienced their worst earthquake of 8.9, which led to the tsunami, killing thousands of people and destroying many towns and cities on Friday. The earthquake has led to problems at 3 nuclear power plants in Japan, leading to the cooling systems failing.

One explosion has already occurred at one of the power plants and another has begun to leak radioactive steam in the area. The problems with the nuclear power plants has enabled rolling blackouts in attempts to save power. The prime minister of Japan called for the Japanese people to come together to overcome this crisis and says, "In the 65 years after the end of World War II, this is the toughest and the most difficult crisis for Japan."

Many Korean celebrities who had been in Japan during the earthquake includes Han Hyojoo, Lee Seunggi, The BOSS, 2NE1, JYJ's Junsu, and KARA. Dara of 2NE1 also spoke on her experience in Japan.

JYJ recently released a video speaking of their concerns for Japanese fans.

Hello. This is JYJ.

We are not sure how to begin our words.

We heard that recently an unexpected large earthquake in Japan harmed many people in Japan. At this, our hearts very much ache and are in sorrow.

In Japan, there were our dear friends and many people who, for a very long time, supported us and loved us. Our hearts hurt (thinking about this).

We JYJ will pray in our place that things will steady as soon as possible so that everyone in Japan will safely be okay. Everyone, good luck and try your best.

The trio also left a message on their website that read:

Hello. This is JYJ.

We are not sure how to begin.

Due to an unexpected disaster, many in Japan are deep in sorrow and fear, and we know that among them are our dear fans, and our hearts very much ache. We pray for those people who passed away due to the earthquake on Friday and for the safety of those who are still missing.

We were moved by Japan’s calm response in the face of the terror of the disaster. We believe that the current disaster is not only the sadness of Japan but of all humankind. If we all have hope and courage, we believe that the clouds will soon disappear and the sun will shine again.

On the day of the earthquake, being in Tokyo, we were extremely shocked. Therefore, we are worried about the safety of the missing Japanese people and the Korean-Japanese. We are checking the bulletins of the press and are keeping watch (in trepidation). Please take heart despite the hardship. We, JYJ, are with you. We want to add to your strength.
We hope to meet with the Japanese fans soon. We wish to meet you all. And, we love you.

There have been a massive response from countries all over the world to help Japan. World governments and international aid groups have been coming together to bring aid to the country. Over sixty-nine governments have offered to help with the search and rescue according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
