Kim Kang-woo has been cast in an upcoming Japanese movie, according to this agency Namoo Actors.
On Friday, Namoo announced in a press release that Kim will play the role of an agent in Korea named Ahn Min-chul in "Sotogoto Keisatsu" set to crank in Japan later this month.
"Sotogoto Keisatsu," based on the six-part TV series which aired on NHK in 2009, tells the story of an external affairs team of a top secret agency that fights against terrorist.
Several of the original cast members of show such as Japanese actor Watabe Atsuro and actress Ishida Yuriko will also take part in the movie.
Kim, who made his acting debut in 2002 film "The Coast Guard," has starred in numerous films and dramas including "Le Grand Chef" (2007), "Marine Boy" (2009), "The Railroad" (2007) for which he won the best actor title at the 25th Torino Film Festival.
After filming "Sotogoto Keisatsu," Kim will play the male lead in Korean director Im Sang-soo's film "Taste of Money."
