Actress Kim Hee-sun will be returning to the big screen in a Chinese film, titled Warring States (戰國) . Kim hasn’t been active in recent years, since her 2007 marriage and the birth of her first child; her last acting role was in 2006’s drama series Smile Again, and her last film back in 2005 with The Myth.
This movie takes place in China’s Warring States Period and boasts a production budget of 20 billion won. She will begin filming at the end of the month, according the production company (星光燦爛), and a press conference will be held on March 14.
Kim is also in discussions to make her television comeback as well, in the drama Faith [신의] by PD Kim Jong-hak (Legend). The drama plans to begin filming in June, so there should be no problem with Kim doing both projects.
Although Kim hasn’t acted in four years, she has done a few CFs and photo shoots since giving birth to her daughter. While she was probably known more for her looks than her acting skills, she enjoyed a bit of popularity before her extended hiatus, so she has fans waiting for her return to the screen
