Bae Yong Joon, Jang Dong Gun, Joo Jin Mo, Jo In Sung are some of the Korean artistes picked by American CNN as ‘South Korea’s 20 hottest male celebs’.

The list was revealed through an online bulletin board on 2nd July. CNN wrote, “ These specially chosen South Korean celebs, who we’ve selected purely on the basis of how much drool they elicited from the female members of our staff, no doubt have solid acting, modeling and/or singing skills. But it’s their chocolate abs, sublime faces and lean, mean, sex-machine bodies that get them a place on this list.”

At #1 on the list is Jang DongGun and CNN introduces him as Even though he was recently stolen away from us by the annoyingly beautiful actress Ko So-Young, the recently married flame has been sizzling up screens for over a decade…He first leaped into our hearts with his breakout role in the 1994 drama “The Final Jump” and the 2000 movie “Friends” established him as truly ‘watchable’.”

장동건·원빈·배용준..CNN선정 '핫한 韓남자연예인'

장동건, 원빈, 배용준, 주진모, 조인성 등이 美CNN 선정 '가장 핫한 한국 남자배우 20'에 이름을 올렸다.

CNN은 지난 2일자 인터넷판을 통해 '가장 핫한 한국 남자배우 20 (South Korea's 20 hottest male celebs)'를 선정, 발표했다.

CNN은 "이들은 의심할 여지없이 탁월한 연기력과 모델 능력 또는 가창력을 지니고 있다"고 설명했다.

1위에 오른 장동건에 대해 CNN은 "최근 아름다운 여배우 고소영에게 빼앗겼음에도 십 수 년 동안 그가 스크린에서 활동한 것은 흥미롭다"고 밝히며 그의 데뷔작 '우리들의 천국'에 대해 언급한 뒤 1994년 드라마 '마지막 승부'로 강한 인상을 남긴 뒤 2000년 영화 '친구'로 '볼 만하게(watchable)'됐다고 평했다.

이어 2위 원빈에 대해서는 "조각 같은 얼굴과 섹시한 목소리"를 장점으로 꼽은 후 "2000년 드라마 '가을동화'로 한류에 있어 한국 연예 산업에서 가장 사랑 받는 스타로서의 입지를 다졌다"고 설명했다.

3위 배용준에 대해서는 "'겨울연가'로 가장 비싼 한국 연예인의 반열에 올랐다"며 "배용준은 단지 유명연예인에 그치는 것이 아니라 세계적인 슈퍼스타가 됐다"고 평했다.

이어 "한국 드라마 팬들에게 그는 진정한 '전설'로 남게 될 것"이라고 배용준을 평가했다.

CNN은 이들에 이어 주진모, 조인성, 이준기, 다니엘 헤니, 데니스 오, 소지섭, 비, 윤상현, 이민호, 김현중, 김범, 장근석, 이승기, 최민식, 송승헌, 권상우, 하정우 등 20명을 '가장 핫한 한국의 남자 연예인'으로 꼽았다.
