ภาพยนตร์เรื่องนี้ได้พระเอกรุ่นใหญ่ โจว เหวิน ฟะ รับบทขงจื๊อ นักปรัชญาชื่อดังชาวจีน และนับเป็นครั้งแรกของ โจวเหวินฟะ พระเอกนักบู๊ที่โด่งดังจากบทบาทในภาพยนตร์แอ็คชั่นของ จอห์น วู และเป็นที่รู้จักของคนทั่วโลกจากหนังพีเรียดอย่าง Curse of the Golden Flower และ Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon มาใส่เสื้อคลุมนักปราชญ์และใช้วาทะเป็นอาวุธแทนครั้งแรก นอกจากโจวเหวินฟะแล้วยังมีนักแสดงเจ้าบทบาทอย่าง โจวซุน นักแสดงสาวชาวจีนฝีมือดีจาก Perhaps Love, The Banquet และ Painted Skin มาร่วมแสดงอีกด้วย

Confucius (2010 film)
Confucius (Chinese: 孔子) is a Chinese biographical film first released in Beijing on 14 January 2010. Directed by Hu Mei, the film stars Chow Yun-fat as the titular philosopher.
Production on the film began in March 2009 with shooting on location in China's Hebei province and in Hengdian World Studios in Zhejiang.
The film was scheduled to screen later in 2009 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, as well as the 2,560th birthday of Confucius himself. However, the release date was later moved to January 2010.
Negative voices have been unceasing since actor Chow Yun-Fat was cast as Confucius in an upcoming biopic of the great ancient philosopher. That's understandable as everyone may have his or her own impression on what Confucius should look like. Check out the first group of stills from the film to see whether Chow's appearance matches your impression.
Producers of "Confucius", which is due out this October, released the stills at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival where they are hoping to find overseas distributors.
Director Hu Mei has said that Chow's involvement was expected to help the film explore its international market. The actor of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" is most recently seen in the Hollywood blockbuster "Dragonball Evolution".
Synopsis :
A film about the life of the ancient Chinese philosopher and educator Confucius. The film is particularly interested in the life of this great philosopher between 51 years and 73 years. Confucius (551 - 479 BC) was born in the Chinese State of Lu, now the district of Qufu in Shandong Province (east). It was a great teacher, a philosopher, a renowned politician and founder of Confucianism.
