Actor Lee Sang-yun and actress Nam Sang-mi who played a couple in SBS TV series "Life is Beautiful," have become an item in real life.
During a recording for cable channel tvN's talk show "Taxi" yesterday, emcee Lee Young-ja asked Nam how she felt about Lee, her lover in the drama, to which Nam responded, "We were friends when we first filmed the series but gradually became lovers."
Nam had made her appearance on "Taxi" as a special guest to the show's main guest Lee Sang-yoon that day and neither producers for the show nor the two actor's agencies had expected Nam to make the remark.
"I think they became a couple because they have compatible personalities so they came to become attracted to each other," an official with Lee's agency HeavenlyStar Entertainment explained.
In "Life is Beautiful," which aired from March to November of last year, Nam played the assistant of a cooking researcher and Lee, the researcher's son who is a diving instructor. The two became a couple after bickering and ended up marrying each other.
Nam, 27, debuted through a drama in 2003 and has since appeared in a number of films and dramas.
Lee, 29, entered show biz in 2007 and has also been featured in several small and big screen projects including his most recent drama "The Duo" also starring Chun Jung-myung and Han Ji-hye.
