Korean singer and actor Kim Hyun-joong has denied news on his possible appearance in an upcoming KBS variety program, downplaying a report from early in the day which said that he has been offered a role in a new show.

On Friday, an official with Kim's agency KEYEAST told 10Asia over the phone, "Kim was not offered a role in a new entertainment program although he met with the producer who will be in charge of the follow-up show to 'Two Nights and One Day' but it was only to exchange greetings for the new year."

Earlier in the day, a local media outlet reported that Kim was asked to appear in a new entertainment show once "Two Nights and One Day" ends its run in February and that he was "looking into the offer."

However, the KEYEAST official explained that the producer only asked about Kim's upcoming schedule.

In the meantime, Kim is gearing up for his first fan meeting for the new year which will take place in Seoul on January 21 as well as the release of his Japanese debut single "KISS KISS/Lucky Guy" set to go on sale four days later.

Kim made his debut as the leader of the popular boy band SS501 in 2005. He expanded his career into acting with a role in KBS’ smash hit series “Boys Over Flowers” in 2009, which made him a household name in Korea and Asia.
