It doesn’t come as a surprise that MBC’s “The Moon that Embraces the Sun” rewrote its personal high in viewership ratings last night. It recorded 37.1% (AGB Nielsen) for its tenth episode, a 2.6% increase from the night before. Its competitors SBS’s “Please Take Care of Us, Captain” and KBS’s “Wild Romance” lagged behind with 7.5% and 4.5% respectively.
During last night’s episode, “The Moon that Embraces the Sun” set another personal record by hitting another all-time high with 41.3% during real-time ratings. The episode started off with ratings over 30% and surpassed the 40% mark within 25 minutes into the story. Real-time ratings hit 41.3% during the scene where Heo Yeom (Song Jae Hee) handed Yeon Woo’s (Han Ga In) last letter before her “death” to King Lee Hwon (Kim Soo Hyun).
Ratings for “The Moon that Embraces the Sun” have already surpassed the 40% in the Seoul Metropolitan area, recording 40.5%. It’s only a matter of time before nationwide ratings also hit the 40% mark.
