[News] Lee Yeon-hee reunites with So Ji-sub for Ghost.

Well not that I was all over So Ji-sub‘s new crime drama Ghost to begin with (seriously skeptical of where the thrill in this thriller will come from), but with the addition of Lee Yeon-hee (Paradise Ranch) as the heroine, I’m pretty much going to be out for the count. I swear, I’ll try to keep an open mind and give it a shot, but some things are just written in the stars.

So this is actually Lee Yeon-hee’s second project with So Ji-sub: they did a four-episode drama special on cable network OCN called U-turn back in 2008, which was a big hit. Ghost is the new project from the PD-writer team of last year’s forensic procedural Sign, and this time it’ll be a procedural about a cyber crimes division.

So Ji-sub plays the cold, gruff golden boy elite cyber detective who doesn’t like people and is a stickler for the rules. Lee Yeon-hee plays Yoo Kang-mi, a twenty-something elite cyber detective… known for being an uljjang [famous for being pretty online].

O-kay? I know, I know–open mind! It’s just… the idea of her even being a cop just makes me giggle, let alone an elite special task force anything. At least they’re playing to some of their strengths, with Lee Yeon-hee as the pretty girl and So Ji-sub as the broody antisocial guy. The crimes-of-the-week better be friggin’ awesome on this show, ‘s all I’m sayin’.

Ghost airs in May on SBS, following Rooftop Prince.
