MBC sitcom "Stand-by" actor Ryu Jin has signed a contract with a new agency G. G Entertainment.
"We have a high expectations for Ryu, who is trying a new genre in his acting career by playing the male lead in a sitcom," the firm's C.E.O Choi Sung-won said in a press release on Friday.
His current TV series "Stand-by" kicked off its run on April 9 and has been raising the bar of his fans' expectations with his comic acting of the drama's shameless character.javascript:void(0)
"Stand-by," which focuses on the everyday story about TV producers, writers and anchors working at a broadcasting company, also stars Lee Ki-woo, Park Jun-keum, ZE:A's member Siwan and Kim Yeon-woo.
Ryu made his first appearance as a rookie actor in KBS' "Sunrise and Moonrise" (translated title) in 1999. His credits in the small screen include "Summer Scent" (KBS, 2003) with actor Song Seung-heon, "Mom Has Grown Horns" (KBS, 2008) and "General Hospital 2" (MBC, 2008-2009).
