Two series from cable network tvN will soon make their way to households in Japan and Taiwan, the broadcaster said through a press release on Tuesday.
Teenage drama "Cool Guys, Hot Ramen," starring Jung Il-woo, Lee Ki-woo and Lee Chung-ah, will begin its run on Japan's TBS starting tonight, and the DVD format of the series will be released on June 27.
"Cool Guys, Hot Ramen" tells the story of Yang Eun-bi (Lee Chung-ah), a trainee teacher, who takes over her father's ramen store run by handsome chefs.
It has received favorable reviews from TV critics and had brought in viewership ratings between four and five percent during its premiere from October to December last year.
The adaptation of a comic book titled "Sweet and Sour Bakery" (translated title), the romantic comedy has been sold to distribution firms located in Asia, North America and Europe.
Meanwhile, tvN's "Shut Up and Let's Go" has been set to kick off its premiere on Taiwan's GTV during the second half of this year.
The teen series, which focuses on music, friendship and love, stars Sung-jun, MATE member Lee Hyun-jae, Yoo Min-kyu, INFINITE member L and Kim Min-seok.
In April, "Shut Up" aired in Japan, Hong Kong, Australia and Malaysia and recorded relatively good numbers in ratings.
