[Photo & News] Actress Lee Shi Young Competes to Make Korean National Boxing Team.

Actress Lee Shi Young competed in the first round of Korean national boxing team try-outs in Ulsan on December 7. She passed the initial weigh-in on December 6. Lee Shi Young boxed against amateur boxer Lee So Yeon and took home her first victory.
Lee Shi Young started boxing to prepare for her role as a boxer in a film in 2010. Although the film fell through, she continued to box and won her first championship in November 2010 at an amateur boxing competition. In February 2011, she continued to win rookie amateur boxing championships in Seoul and then became the new amateur boxing champion in Korea at 48kg weight class in March 2011.
In July 2012, Lee Shi Young won the amateur boxing championship of Seoul and became the city’s representative boxer. This victory made her eligible to compete against other boxers to become a part of Korean national team. As she won the first round of the try-outs, she will be competing in the semi-final round on December 10.
