A cold wave watch has been issued for most parts of the nation.
Morning lows plunged below zero degrees Celsius in some inland areas on Tuesday, making it the coldest day of the season.
Mount Seorak saw the mercury hit minus 12 degrees Celsius, while temps at Daegwallyeong in Gangwon Province fell to minus three-point-six degrees. The northern parts of the Gangwon and Gyeonggi provinces, North Chungcheong Province and some southern regions also saw their morning lows drop below zero.
Seoul saw a morning low of zero-point-nine degrees. However, with the wind chill factored in, people felt temperatures closer to minus two degrees in the capital.
The first freezes of the season were also reported in Seoul, Munsan, Wonju, Daejeon and Gangwon Province.
The freezes in Seoul, Munsan, Wonju and Daejeon were detected about a week earlier than the first freezes last year.
The last time Seoul saw its first freeze in October was in 2002.

สำหรับใครที่จะไปเที่ยวเกาหลีในช่วงนี้นะคะ กรมอุตุนิยมฯ ออกมาประกาศเตือนว่าอากาศหนาวเย็นจะเข้าปกคลุมบางส่วนของประเทศเร็วกว่าปกติ ในเช้าวันอังคารนี้บางแห่งมีอุณหภูมิต่ำกว่าศูนย์ ทำให้เป็นวันที่หนาวเย็นที่สุดของฤดูกาล
โซรัคซานอุณหภูมิลดลงถึง -12 องศาเซลเซียส ในขณะที่แดกวัลยองใน จ.คังวอน วัดอุณหภูมิได้ -3.6 องศาเซลเซียส ทางตอนเหนือของ จ.คังวอนและคยองกีและทางใต้ก็มีอุณหภูมิลดลงต่ำกว่าศูนย์
สำหรับในกรุงโซล วัดอุณหภูมิได้ 0.3 องศาเซลเซียส แต่เป็นเพราะลมที่หนาวเย็นทำให้อุณหภูมิลดต่ำลงไปที่ประมาณ -2 องศาเซลเซียส อากาศหนาวเย็นที่เข้าปกคลุมบางส่วนของประเทศนี้มาเร็วกว่าปีที่แล้วถึง 1 สัปดาห์ ครั้งสุดท้ายที่ความหนาวเย็นเข้าปกคลุมในช่วงเดือนตุลาคมคือเมื่อปี 2002
