Gackt is prolific is a bit of an understatement. He sang lead for now defunct Visual Kei band Malice Mizer. These days, he stars in films like Bunraku. He lends his vocal talents to the occasional video game. He pilots giant robots (in music videos anyway). He claims to see and speak with the dead. He has often claimed to be a Vampire born in 1540. He has helmed an incredibly successful solo career comprising 7 studio albums and 38 singles.

Though no information about the new single has been revealed, there will be two different versions for the single; limited edition which will come out with a DVD, and regular edition. It will be about a year since he last released his single “EVER” back on July 28th, 2010.

On GACKT’s official site, there is an announcement that he will be releasing his 39th single (title unknown yet) on July 13th.

Details are scarce, but Gackt announced on his Myspace page Monday that his as-of-yet-unnamed 39th single will be hitting store shelves on July 13 of this year. The single will be available either as a stand alone CD or a CD/DVD package for bit more yen. What is the single called? What’s on the optional DVD? That’s for Gackt alone to know for now.
