[News] Director Kim Ki-duk's film "Arirang" wins award at Poland film fest.

Korean director Kim Ki-duk's controversial movie "Arirang" has won an award at the New Horizons International Film Festival in Poland, according to its official website on Thursday.

Into its 11th year, the jurors of the film festival awarded "Arirang" with the grand prize under the Films On Art International Competition which was held in Wroclaw on July 21 to 31.

"Arirang," helmed by and starring Kim who plays three personas, is a one-man show on the timeline of his own life in the movie industry as he reflects on the 15 feature films that he has directed as well as the people that he has encountered.

The film earned the top prize under the Un Certain Regard category during the 64th Cannes Film Festival in May and has been invited to the Real to Reel segment at the 36th Toronto International Film Festival next month.

In the meantime, Kim's latest feature film "Amen" will compete against several other international pictures at the 59th San Sebastian Festival in Spain.
