KBS 2TV‘s highly anticipated new drama “Poseidon” kicked off with a bang on September 19th, as it saw a reasonably high viewership rating and also received a great deal of positive feedback after the broadcast.
A large portion of viewers, however, expressed their disapproval of the drama’s main OST track as they believed it didn’t match up with the drama’s setting, and many claimed to have a hard time properly immersing themselves in the climatic scenes of the show.
Shortly after the episode ended, viewers visited the drama’s official board and left comments including, “Weird music came out during the most climatic scenes of the episode”, “It completely killed the mood of the scenes”, and “I have no idea why you decided to choose that song for the main scenes.”
Rather than the usual adrenaline-pumping OST tracks played in the background during action-packed climatic scenes, the song that played had more of a light-hearted, hip-hop style that didn’t quite fit along with the scenes taking place, which resulted in a lot of viewers to be taken aback and lose their connection with the drama.
Meanwhile, the first episode of the “Poseidon” received a viewer rating of 6.9%.
