MBC's drama "The Greatest Love" has been honored with a silver award at the eighth annual New York Television Festival's International TV & Films Award, according to a press release from the broadcaster on Friday.
MBC said that the romantic comedy, which premiered in the small screen between May 4 and June 23 in Korea last year, won the silver prize under the mini-series category and the awards ceremony will take place in Las Vegas on April 17.
Starring actor Cha Seung-won and actress Kong Hyo-jin, the drama has easily earned popularity in Korea by drawing the love story and comic events happening between a top celebrity (Cha) and a former idol singer (Kong).
"The Greatest Love" also holds the record of scoring seven honors at the MBC Drama Awards last year.
KBS’ “Sungkyunkwan Scandal”, SBS’ “Last Tundra- Inheritors of Tundra” and MBC’s “The Day of Ji-hyun’s First Meeting with Her Father” were all shortlisted for the same awards under Mini-series, Nature & Wildlife and Social Issues/Current Events segments respectively, but failed to win prizes this year.
