Solo artist Tim has been cast as the male lead in Indonesian drama “I Love You…,” according to his promoter's LUNE Communication on Monday.
According to LUNE, Tim will play Young-min, a famous Korean singer from a rich family, with Indonesian actress Revalina S Temat in the drama that is set to hit the airwaves on the local broadcaster Indosiar’s primetime in July.
"A third of the whole episodes will be shot in Korea while the rest will be shot in Indonesia," the official told 10Asia in a phone interview.
"I Love You..." is a 30-part drama portraying the love between a couple with different nationalities from Indonesia and South Korea while this will be Tim's second work in his acting career since starring in the musical "The Harmonium In My Memory" (translated title).
The romance serial, a collaboration between Asia Top Entertainment, a Korean company in Indonesia, and the drama’s production firm Digital Network Art, cranked in early this month and is being helmed by renowned director Indrayanto Kurniawan.
Meanwhile, Indosiar, the broadcaster that will premiere the series, is known as the leading network in bringing Korean wave to Indonesian viewers after airing a number of popular Korean dramas including MBC's ”The Greatest Love” and “Twinkle Twinkle."
Born Hwang Young-min, Tim kicked off his singing career in 2003 with the single album "I Love You" and has since produced six full-track albums and a number of single albums that produced hit songs such as “I Wanted to Say Thank You,” “As Much As I Loved,” and “From The End Of The World.”
