As reported yesterday, SBS “Rooftop Prince,” starring Park Yoo Chun (JYJ) and Han Ji Min, and MBC “The King 2hearts,” starring Lee Seung Gi and Ha Ji Won, did not air last night due to the 19th General Elections in Korea. However, KBS “The Equator Man,” starring Uhm Tae Woong and Lee Bo Young, aired its sixth episode yesterday night, turning the tables on the ratings race for Wed/Thurs nights.
Ratings for “The Equator Man” vastly improved since the transition from its child actors to adult actors. Many netizens were optimistically expecting its ratings to rise even more with the absence of “Rooftop Prince” and “The King 2hearts,” and they were right.
According to AGB Nielsen, “The Equator Man” recorded 14.3% for its seventh episode, a 4.1% jump from its sixth. "Rooftop Prince" and "The King 2hearts" recorded 12.5% and 12.1% respectively last week. At this rate, many are predicting that the intriguing and suspenseful series may hold on to the lead for the highly competitive Wed/Thurs ratings race. “The Equator Man” is a story about friendship, betrayal, and rivalry. It follows the life of Kim Sun Woo (Uhm Tae Woong), who goes on to become a successful CEO.
“The Equator Man” stars “Doctor Champ’s” Uhm Tae Woong, “ATHENA: Goddess of War’s” Lee Bo Young, “City Hunter’s” Lee Joon Hyuk, “The Princess’s Man’s” Kim Young Chul, and more.
