[News] Miss Ripley considering extension 4 episode.

Four more episodes of Miss Ripley? MBC is reportedly in talks with the drama’s production team to extend the show by two more weeks, bringing the episode count from 16 to 20. Originally scheduled to wrap on July 19, that would put its finale on August 2 instead.

'Miss Ripley' has been performing decently in the ratings and has been a solid no
.2 with numbers in the vicinity of 12%, behind 'Baby-Faced Beauty' which is hovering in the 14%-15% range, and ahead of 'Lie To Me', which ended last week after spending much of its run in single digits. 'Warrior Baek Dong-soo' took over that slot this week and had a brisk start with a 10.1% and 10.6% for its first two episodes.



Despite its safe ratings, 'Miss Ripley' is by no means a runaway hit, which makes me think that this extension would really be more for the benefit of its successor drama, the large-scale sageuk series 'Gye Baek', starring Lee Seo-jin as General Gye Baek of Baekje.

If you recall, a similar thing happened when Queen of Reversals was extended to give The Duo more time; like Ripley, Reversals had decent but not stellar ratings. On the upside, the added time seems to have served The Duo satisfactorily.
