A representative revealed, “Writer Kim Eun Sook sent a love call to Park Shin Hye and also received the OK sign from the SBS drama department. Writer Kim had been keeping an eye on Park Shin Hye’s recent productions. Although girl group members were considered as candidates, she wanted to go with an actress instead for stable acting ability.”

Actor Lee Min Ho not only has a lot of fans in Chile, but his fans recently found a unique way to express their enthusiasm. They helped restore a fire-ravaged forest in his name in Patagonia, which they hope he will one day visit.

From December 2011 to January 2012, a wildfire destroyed a large area of the Torres del Paine National Park in southern Chilean Patagonia. The national park is known for its beautiful mountains, glaciers, lakes and rivers. The wildfire destroyed 68 miles of the park, including miles of native forest.

A project was created called Reforest Patagonia. The project asked people to donate money to plant trees in the damaged section of the forest. So, The Minoz Chile Fan Club decided to help reforest the park in Lee Min Ho's name.

As of today, the fan club has donated over 300 trees, each costing 2,000 pesos, which amounts to about $4.

The fans call this new section of the restored national park, Lee Min Ho Forest and are pleased to say that you can see the progress through a satellite photo.

On the webpage for this forest, Minoz fans are quoted as saying, "We planted this forest to express our love for the Korean actor Lee Min Ho. We wanted to show him a beautiful Patagonia and hope for his visit."

Although he has never traveled to South America, the actor is very popular in Chile because of his performances as Goo Jun Pyo in "Boys Over Flowers," Jeon Jin Ho in "Personal Taste," Lee Soon Young in "City Hunter" and Choi Young in "Faith: The Great Doctor."

He is slated to appear next in the drama, "The Heirs" with Park Shin Hye. Chile's fans will be sure to watch.

Kdramas are increasingly popular in South America and especially in Chile, where many students watch them on youtube.

Hallyu star Lee Min-ho was received with wild enthusiasm on his first visit to Indonesia last weekend.

The actor hosted his first fan meet-and-greet session at Jakarta Convention Center’s Plenary hall in Indonesia on March 23 with some 5,000 fans gathered, his agency Starhaus Entertainment said on March 27.

“I’m sorry that I couldn’t make it before now and I thank you for waiting for me for such a long time,” Lee said in his hand-written letter at the sold-out fan event, where his die-hard fans chose to keep standing for the whole three hours.

Officials from Starhaus explained that Lee’s visit was belated due to the “Boys over Flowers” star’s tight schedule, which didn't allow him to answer numerous calls for visits in the region after the drama series such as “Personal Taste,” “City Hunter” and most recently, “Faith” proved to be such hits there.

The time-slipping series, opposite actress Kim Hee-seon, is slated to hit the airwaves in the country from May.

In a bid to respond to the fans’ overwhelming support, the 25-year-old star is set to drop his first mini-album early May. He will embark on Asia tour in late May, starting with Seoul.

Hallyu actor Lee Minho will release a special album and start his tour in May.

On March 14th, the actor's agency Starhaus Entertainment, revealed that actor will release a special album for his fans on May 2013.

Starhaus Entertainment, said, “Lee Minho will release an album, which will be released worldwide and he will start his 10-city live tour in May.”

They also revealed that the album took two years to prepare, and made it clear that Lee Minho will not pursue a singing career. They said this was fan service, for the love and support he has received all over the world.

The profits from the album will donated to needy people.

The actor said, “My plan is to become a better actor, so singing is none of my concerns. I am doing this album for my fans. I am coming back with a project as soon as I could.”

Lee Minho will visit countries like China, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines and more. He will start in his native country in late may, and the tour will last till July 2013.

Meanwhile, the actor have been busy traveling to different parts of thee world for commercial shooting, and fan meets.

Actor Lee Min-ho, who became a much-loved Hallyu star from TV drama “Boys Over Flowers” in 2009, plans to release a special album worldwide in May. He will have a world tour starting that month as well, according to Lee’s management agency Starhaus Entertainment yesterday.

However, Lee made it clear that the album release is just a gift to fans and not a signal of his debut as a singer.

“My goal is to become an excellent actor, and making a debut as a singer is something beyond my talent,” said Lee according to the agency. “It is a small gift I wanted to give to the fans who care about me.”

He often sings at fan meetings but has never released music to the public or sung on television.

“There have been endless requests for him to produce an album with songs from fan meetings,” said the agency. It added that it decided on the album release after two years of deliberation .

Some proceeds from the sales of the album will be donated to charities.

The hallyu star attended the 12th China Fashion Awards in Suzhou on January 18 where Lee Min Ho joined a long list of some of China’s top stars taking part including Cecilia Cheung, Rosamund Kwan and more.

Lee, who represents the clothing brand Trugen, held a signing event on December 8 at an outlet mall.

Top star Lee Min Ho flew to Japan in order to promote his latest drama “Faith.”

On December 2, Lee Min Ho attended the press conference for “Faith” at Yokohama Grand InterContinental Hotel. “Because the drama shooting lasted for so long, I haven’t been able to meet the fans. It’s a cold season and as Christmas is nearing, I want to spend some cozy time with the fans and make unforgettable memories.”

When asked about whether he can relate to his on-screen character Choi Young, the actor responded, “He and I are similar in that we do our best to keep our promises. But personally, I am more straightforward in expressing my feelings to women.”

From December 5, the drama will air on the Japanese smartphone channel NOTTV (www.nottv.jp) every Wednesdays and Thursdays. A release of a DVD is scheduled for next year as well.

With quite a bit of hit projects under his belt, Lee Min Ho figured that he’s gained himself some fame, but he also admitted that he never expected to recieve this much love overseas, especially from China.

During a recent shoot with star lifestyle magazine @star1, Lee Min Ho talked about his rising fame with his dramas Boy Before Flowers and City Hunter, both of which have become quite popular in China.

Lee Min Ho said in the interview, “Up to this point, Korean dramas have been loved overseas, not for its special genre, but for its easy romance or comedy. But because City Hunter is an action-packed drama, I was quite surprised that it was actually popular in China.” 

Now that he’s well-known in both countries, Lee Min Ho says it doesn’t matter what kind of project he is offered, whether it’s Korean or international.

“I think a project is full of charms if it’s a good production or has a character that I’m greedy for," revealed Lee Min Ho. "If it’s a worthwhile project, no matter where it’s created, it’ll be competitive anywhere.”

Adding on to his mindset of dramas, Lee Min Ho said, “From the beginning to the end of a drama, it’s most important that I’m focused on the project that I’m responsible for and feel affection towards it. Then I get faith that the project will end up being good before getting fully engaged in it.”

Actor Lee Min Ho was able to transform into various looks with fashion and lifestyle magazine 'Star 1'.

Lee Min-ho is best known for his leading roles in Boys Over Flowers (2009) as Gu Jun-pyo, the leader of a group of students known as F4, and action drama City Hunter (2011).

In his second year of high school, Min-ho turned to acting. By his senior year in high school he had joined Starhaus Entertainment with the help of an acquaintance. After going through training, Min-ho started auditioning and landed small roles in several television dramas. In 2006, his acting career was put on hold for a year following a serious car accident in which he was severely injured. Childhood friend and fellow actor Jung Il-woo was also injured in the accident.

His breakthrough came in 2009 with the lead role of Gu Jun-pyo in Boys Over Flowers (KBS2), the Korean adaptation of the popular Japanese television drama Hana Yori Dango, which was based on the popular Shōjo manga, Boys Over Flowers (花より男子 Hana Yori Dango). Min-ho is majoring in Film & Art at Konkuk University.

In 2011, he starred in the hit action drama City Hunter. The drama's popularity throughout Asia has also contributed to Min-ho's growing popularity in Asia, most notably in Japan, Philippines and China. He took the number one spot for Best Hallyu Star in a Japanese magazine dedicated to Korean dramas in June of 2012.

On April 6, 2012, Min-ho announced on his Facebook page that he would appear in a new drama called 'Faith', which aired from August to October 2012 in Korea.
