วันนี้ขอแนะนำภาพยนตร์อีกเรื่องที่น่าสนใจนะคะ.... เป็นหนังที่ทางประเทศจีนทุ่มทุนสร้างและรวบรวมดาราดังมาไว้มากมาย ประเทศจีนมีประวัติศาสตร์อันยาวนานและเปลี่ยนแปลงผู้ปกครองมาแล้วมากมายหลายต่อหลายราชวงศ์ แต่สุดท้ายระบบศักดินาก็ถูกโค่นล้มลง อำนาจกลับคืนสู่มือประชาชนไม่ใช่ขุนนางอีกต่อไป นี่คือตำนานอีกบทในยุคสมัยหลังเปลี่ยนแปลงการปกครอง ซึ่งเป็นเรื่องราวที่เราอาจไม่ค่อยได้พบเห็นในภาพยนตร์ทั่วไปมากนัก ส่วนใหญ่เราจะคุ้นเคยแต่ประวัติศาสตร์สมัยราชวงศ์ต่างๆ ทั้งหมิง ฮั่น หรือแมนจู แต่ในยุคของประธานเหมาดังเช่นในภาพยนตร์เรื่องนี้ค่อนข้างหาดูได้ยากจริงๆ จึงไม่ควรพลาดอย่างยิ่งสำหรับผู้ที่สนใจประวัติศาสตร์จีน หรือกำลังศึกษาเรื่องราวที่เกี่ยวกับประเทศจีน

“มังกรสร้างชาติ” หรือ The Founding of a Republic ภาพยนตร์ที่รวมดาราทั่วฟ้าเมืองจีน ถือเป็นการร่วมแรงร่วมใจของทั้งนักแสดงและผู้กำกับจีนตั้งแต่ เจ็ต ลี, หลิวเต๋อหัว, เฉินหลง, โจว เหวิน ฟะ, จางซิยี่ และอีกกว่า 100 คน ที่มาช่วยกันสร้างสรรค์ภาพยนตร์เรื่องนี้ให้สุดอลังการด้วยทุนสร้างถึง 10 ล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐฯ เพื่อเฉลิมฉลองวาระครบรอบ 60 ปีการก่อตั้งสาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีน เป็นการถ่ายทอดประวัติศาสตร์จีนในช่วงปี 1945 - 1949

The Founding of a Republic (simplified Chinese : 建国大业; traditional Chinese : 建國大業; pinyin : Jiàngúo dàyè; literally "The Great Cause of Founding a Country") is a Chinese historical film commissioned by China's film regulator and made by the state-owned China Film Group (CFG) to mark the 60th Anniversary of the People’s Republic of China. The film was directed by Huang Jianxin and China Film Group head Han Sanping.



Although the film premiered on September 17, 2009 in mainland China, it has yet to receive publicity in Taiwan. It has been described as "propaganda" for the Communist Party. While the Taiwan government has asserted that it has no plans to actively censor the film, it will not be released until next year at earliest because of the quota for 10 mainland films has already been fulfilled.



The film retells the tale of the Communist ascendancy and triumph, and has a star-studded cast including Andy Lau, Ge You, Hu Jen, Leon Lai, Zhang Ziyi, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, and directors Jiang Wen, Chen Kaige and John Woo, many of whom make cameo appearances so brief they could be easily missed; the leading roles are played by actors equally renowned in China, such as Tang Guogiang and Zhang Guoli, but they are less well-known internationally. A CFG spokesman said many stars answered Han Sanping's call to appear in the film, and waived their fee. Thus, the movie kept to its modest budget of 60–70 million yuan (US$8.8–$10 million). According to the executive at one of China's top multiplex chains, the film unusually marries "the core of an 'ethically inspiring' film with commercial packaging."

'The Founding Of A Republic' - A Chinese Celebration

A new docu-drama style film by China Film Group known as 'The Founding of a Republic' (also known as Jinguo Daye in Chinese), is a revolutionary propaganda movie which was celebrated during the 60th anniversary of communist China on October 1st. This is probably one of many films where many well known Chinese celebrities star in one film. In this one, there are about 172, and most only have 'cameo roles'.



Quentin Sommerville with BBC News wrote, "Jackie Chan is understated, in 'tache and glasses, as an un-named journalist. Blink and you'll miss Jet Li, a navy officer who snaps Mao and Chiang Kai-shek a quick salute. Zhang Ziyi of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, is surprisingly dowdy as a women's committee member who advises Mao on the choice of flag for the new republic."



Most of the Chinese stars have offered their services for free to act in this movie, which was released as part of the celebrations for the 60th anniversary of China and was showing in every movie theater in the country.

Huang Jiangxin, the film's co-director said, "They wanted to work in the film to show their love and their connection to the country. And in the film there are so many famous characters from Chinese history, with interesting stories to tell, so there were enough roles to go around."



A film critic for Time Out Beijing, Simon Fowler said that having too many celebrities in one movie can be quite a distraction for the audiences. "It's a bit confusing to have every three minutes another famous actor appear and to have so many things going on on-screen," he said. "The audience was very receptive to the film, they really enjoyed it. But I don't know if it works so well because there are so many elements they've tried to bring together and it all feels a bit rushed."



Sommerville wrote, "The film is low on action, but high on committee meetings. There is little suspense, but the defeated Nationalists are given a surprising amount of screen time."

Co-director Huang said, "The film is about the battle between Mao's army and the Nationalists, led by Chiang Kai-shek. We show which side history has chosen - who won the fight. This is the first time we have given equal length of time to show both sides of the story."

"This movie tells the story of how a government was established through one party's co-operation with many others," Huang said.



Zhang Kuo, a Chinese student said that watching the film made him very proud of his country. "The film awakens national pride; there are a lot of Chinese movie stars that we feel proud of. It raises our self respect," Kuo said.

The movie does not go into Mao's political reign after 1949, but instead ended the film with his victory in 1949, to avoid further controversies.
