IRIS agent(s) to return for Athena,

Tae Won Entertainment announced Kim So-yeon will be returning in the IRIS spinoff, 'Athena: Goddess of War', reprising her characters from IRIS.

Kim So Yeon will play Kim Sun Hwa, a top secret agent, who is ready to sacrifice her life for her country anytime. Kim Seon-hwa is the character which is key to Athena's late twist, but she will be totally different from 'IRIS'. Kim So-yeon will fly to New Zealand, as soon as she finishes shooting 'Doctor Champ' (approximately in late November), to join the shooting of 'Athena'.



Drama storyline about A terrorist group known as 'Athena' and led by evil mastermind Son Hyuk threatens South Korea and the world. It is now up to special agent Lee Jung Woo of the National Security Agency to foil their terrifying conspiracy. Jo Soo Young, the daughter of the South Korean president, is kidnapped and hidden away in Italy. Jung Woo and his team are given the assignment to find her and bring her back.

Currently, Athena stars Jung Woo Sung, Cha Seung Won, Soo Ae, Lee Ji Ah, and others are filming on location overseas.

Tae Won Entertainment said that the Athena team recently finished filming in Italy and will be filming other parts of the story in other countries Japan, Switzerland, Singapore,and New Zealand. The drama is scheduled to be broadcast on SBS in November.

'Athena: Goddess of War' will air in December as a follow-up to 'Giant'.
