The movie "Punch" has been invited to the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival.

BIFF announced 14 films as candidates for the children and teen movie competition sections, called the Generation program. "Punch" was placed in the category called "14 Plus".

The film commission said, "The movie stands out due to the excellent performance of the actors. It could very well form a connection with the young Berlin audience with its intense set up and global content".

A total of 8 movies were invited for the "14 Plus" category. America's "Electrick Children", Chile's "Joven & Alocada", Sweden's "Kronjuvelerna", the Denmark and Sweden collaboration "Magi I Luften", the Greek movie "Mustafa's Sweet Dreams", France's "Orchim LeRega" and the Mexican film "Un Mundo Secreto" have been also been selected.

There have been two Korean movies previously invited to the Generation program, the 2006 movie "Like A Virgin" and 2007's "Ice Bar" were invited for the K-Plus category.

"14 Plus" is a competing category aimed at youth. It's goal is to introduce movies with social issues. Berlin also has a generation section for younger children, K-Plus.

Kim Yoon-seok and Yoo Ah-in's "Punch" tells the touching tale of rebel Wan-deuk and his nosy teacher Dong-joo. It gathered over five million admissions in just 46 days since its release and has become one of the top hit movies of 2011.
