[News] Kang Ji-hwan cast in Page One

Woohoo!!! Kang Ji-hwan is coming back to television!

He has been cast in the upcoming SBS drama Page One, which is being directed by Full House and The World They Live In’s PD Pyo Min-soo, and has already cast Park Shi-yeon as its female lead. He plays a well-mannered novelist, who wrote a series of bestsellers at a young age and shot to early stardom. Park plays the head of a publishing company, with whom he has an interesting and odd relationship. A third character, yet-uncast, is a secretary with whom Kang’s character begins a bickering romance. Writing the drama is Song Jae-jung of Unstoppable High Kick.

Kang has been mired in contract disputes with his former management company in recent months, and therefore there was a lot of worry over whether he would be prevented from acting for an extended period of time. The issue is not yet resolved, so there’s some speculation over whether it will affect this role, but hopefully it won’t. You may recall that Lee Jun-ki also faced a similar threat of being kept from acting by his ex-management company, but they worked things out.

Page One will take over the Oh My Lady timeslot on Mondays and Tuesdays, which means it’ll air in the earlier (9pm) hour, continuing SBS’s decision to expand its prime-time programming on those two nights.

Page One จะลงจอต่อจาก Oh My Lady ในวันจันทร์-อังคาร เวลา 3 ทุ่ม ซึ่งถือเป็นช่วงไพรม์ไทม์ของ SBS


배우 강지환, '오마레' 후속 '페이지원' 주연 확정적

[아시아경제 고재완 기자]배우 강지환이 '오! 마이 레이디' 후속으로 오는 6월 초 방송 예정인 SBS 새 월화드라마 '페이지원'의 주연으로 발탁될 것으로 보인다.

강지환은 '페이지원'에서 소설가 이진수 역을 맡을 예정이다. 이진수는 젊은 나이에 베스트셀러를 연속으로 터뜨리면서 일찌감치 스타덤에 오른 매너좋은 소설가 캐릭터로 출판사 대표 서은영(박시연 분)과 묘한 관계로 지내고 있다. 또 강승연(배영 미정)을 비서로 들이면서 티격태격 로맨스를 시작하는 인물이다.

서은영 역은 일찌감치 박시연으로 확정됐고 강승연 역은 현재 한창 캐스팅이 진행되고 있다.

'페이지원'은 '풀하우스' '그들이 사는 세상'의 표민수 PD가 연출을 맡고 '순풍산부인과' '거침없이 하이킥'의 송재정 작가가 집필을 맡아 카페 페이지원을 배경으로 좌충우돌 남녀들의 상큼발랄한 멜로를 그릴 예정이다.

한편 강지환은 아직 전 소속사와의 전속계약 문제가 해결되지 않은 상태라 이번 캐스팅이 어떤 파장을 몰고 올지 관심이 모아지고 있다.
