นักแสดงหญิงชอยจิวู (Choi Ji Woo) ถูกเลือกให้เป็นผู้สนับสนุนอันทรงเกียรติสำหรับการโปรโมทการท่องเที่ยว โดยทางกรรมการของการท่องเที่ยวเกาหลี เธอไปร่วมในกิจกรรมของการท่องเที่ยวเกาหลีในช่วงเย็นวันพุธที่ 23 มิถุนายน

ผู้สนับสนุนการท่องเที่ยวทำงานเจาะไปที่ตลาดชาวต่างชาติ ซึ่งเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของระดับประเทศตั้งแต่ปี 2010 – 2012 ด้วยแคมเปญปีการท่องเที่ยวเกาหลี โดยผู้สนับสนุนนี้มีถึง 200 คนที่จะต้องคอยกระตุ้นให้ชาวเกาหลีทักทายนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติด้วยความอบอุ่นและรอยยิ้มฉันท์มิตร

ชอยจิวูกล่าวว่า “ชาวเกาหลีมักถูกชาวต่างชาติเข้าใจผิดจากภาษาทางพฤติกรรมของเรา และเป็นเพราะวัฒนธรรมที่แตกต่าง” เธอกล่าวอีกด้วยว่า “ฉันจะพยายามอย่างดีที่สุดที่จะแสดงให้ชาวต่างชาติอุ่นใจด้วยจิตใจที่อบอุ่น และโปรโมทประเทศให้เป็นสถานที่หนึ่งที่มีคุณค่าในการกลับมาเยี่ยม”

กิจกรรมการท่องเที่ยวเกาหลีเริ่มตอน 20.00 น. ที่พระราชวัง Chang Deok และมีวาไรตี้เกี่ยวกับวัฒนธรรมของเกาหลี โดยที่ทางคณะกรรมการประกาศเกี่ยวกับสถานที่ธรรมชาติยอดนิยม โดยมีผู้สนับสนุนเข้าร่วมถึง 200 คน

Hallyu Star Choi Ji-woo (35), a Korean Wave star, has been appointed honorary supporter of a smile campaign by Visit Korea Committee.

Her appointment ceremony took place during “Inspring Night in Korea,” an event hosted by the Korea Tourism Organization at Changdeokgung Palace in Seoul on Wednesday.

The committee is conducting a campaign to welcome foreign tourists with a smile during Visit Korea Years from 2010 to 2012. Presently, about 200 supporters work for the campaign across the country.

“When I worked overseas, I saw some Koreans speak bluntly, though that’s not what they meant, and they were often misunderstood because of cultural differences,” Choi told reporters, “I will try to show Koreans’ warm hearts to foreigners and to make them want to visit Korea again.”

During Inspiring Night in Korea, officials presented their tourism vision and traditional culture events were held with some 200 smile campaign supporters attending.
