[News] Jang Keun-suk Immersed in His Role in 'Marry Me, Mary'

Jang Keun-suk, who plays Kang Mu-gyul, an indifferent but kind vocalist of an indie band, is delivering a delicate performance as he is immersed in his role in the KBS2 drama “Marry Me, Mary.”

In the November 30 episode, Mu-gyul becomes confused about his feelings toward Wie Mary (Moon Geun-young), with whom he has a deal to pretend to be a couple, after he happens to see her kissed by Jung In (Kim Jae-wook), a son of a rich family friend of Mary’s who is forced by his father to marry Mary.




Mu-gyul has dated many girls but never felt sincere feelings for any of them. He realizes he feels differently with Mary and tells her that he wants to end their contract. He says, “I don’t know whether I’ve really come to love you or just don’t want to lose to [Jung In]. I even feel confused whether we are real couple or not.”

Jang’s delicate performance of expressing his character’s emotions was impressive, as he even naturally shed tears while immersed in his role, although there was no such instruction in the script.

Viewers praised his performance on the drama board, saying, “It was touching to see My-gyul expressing his feelings for Mary,” “I was impressed with his performance,” and “I could feel what he feels, so I cried with him.”

Expected to draw increasing attention with the love triangle between Mary, Mu-gyul and Jung In, “Marry Me, Mary” airs every Monday and Tuesday on KBS2 at 9:55 p.m.
