On March 8, actress Ha Ji Won attended the press conference for her new drama, "The King 2hearts." In the drama, Ha Ji Won plays the role of Kim Hang Ah, a former agent and current instructor of the North Korean special forces. A veteran actress and expert in dramas, Ha Ji Won spent most of her late 20s and early 30s working. Now, at the age of 34, it can be expected that marriage has come to mind for her lately.

On the subject of marriage, Ha Ji Won revealed, "I really don't know what marriage is just yet." She explained, "Truthfully, I haven't really been thinking about it lately, but people around me have been talking to me about it. Sometimes they say, 'What if you lose your chance to get married,' and I try to think about it. Kim Hang Ah is a character that's very thoughtful about her life, so she's bound to worry about it [marriage]. Maybe it's because I haven't matured enough yet, but I don't have any plans to get married yet."

Ha Ji Won also revealed that she recently had a dream related to marriage. She added, "I had a dream because of my character. In the dream, I was married to someone who was arranged for me, like my character in the drama. I was completely surprised." In "The King 2hearts," Kim Hang Ah ends up in an arranged marriage with the Crown Prince of South Korea, Lee Jae (Lee Seung Gi).

She continued, "I don't really know the meaning of marriage. Therefore, I don't really know if I want to get married yet. I wonder if I'll be able to find my true feelings for it through my role as Kim Hang Ah. I will try to do so."



Ha Ji Won will be acting alongside actor Lee Seung Gi, who will play the role of King Lee Jae. As he is currently 25 years old, there have been speculations on the age difference between the two. Ha revealed, "Actually, there have been many times where I played alongside an actor who was younger than me. In the moment of acting, I'm the character I'm playing, not Ha Ji Won. Therefore, it hasn't been very difficult." She added with confidence, "Maybe it's because I've become used to it, but it doesn't come as uncomfortable to me."

"[Lee Seung Gi and I] do have an age difference, but I hope we look good with each other. It's a greater age difference than before, but I can't help it," Ha added with a smile. In 2010, Ha Ji Won worked with Hyun Bin (age 30) for SBS's hit drama "Secret Garden," and with Jo In Sung (age 31) for SBS's "What Happened It Bali" in 2004.

The drama will feature a "Nape Kiss" scene between the two leads. Ha Ji Won commented, "Lee Seung Gi is very young, but acted with a bold confidence," and "He was more mature than I thought."

MBC's upcoming drama, "The King 2 Hearts" is set to air on March 21 at 21:55 KST, following the popular drama series "The Moon That Embraces the Sun."

The sequel to the 2011 hit drama, “Dream High” has announced its broadcast date!

"Dream High 2" has been highly anticipated since the announcement of the sequel to the original inspirational youth drama. Now fans can know exactly when to tune in. Producer JYP announced on his personal Twitter account that “Dream High 2” will air next year January 30 on KBS. He also asked for suggestions for the show. Some people responded that they would like other idols like the Wonder Girls to appear in the drama.

It was announced earlier, however, that “Dream High 2” will not be casting any idols but new trainees. Members from the first season like 2PM's Woo Young and Taecyeon, IU, and miss A's Suzy will at most make cameo appearances.

Casting should be complete next month and the drama will begin filming in December.

IU started out as a small character on “Dream High“, but as the series progressed, her ‘ugly duckling’ persona quickly became an important role.

IU’s representative spoke with Newsen on January 25th, and said: “When we first got the synopsis, we knew this character would be a fat and ugly one who transforms into a pretty girl. But as the character became more developed, her part definitely got bigger.”

The rep added, “The script isn’t always completed before filming starts, so we don’t know how things got developed to this point; still, her part on the show definitely became bigger than we expected. She’s very happy about it and is having fun.”

He concluded, “She comes back as the beautiful IU from the chubby Pilsook, although she said it’s easier to act as the chubby Pilsook. Please look forward to her acting because she is doing her best.”

All around entertainer Park Jin Young will be expected to debut as an actor in the drama.

PJY plans to appear with BYJ in the drama “Dream High” (scenario Park Hye Ryeon, producer Lee Eung Bok), which will be airing on KBS2 on January 3, 2011, and will be competing charisma with BYJ. It has been known that “Dream High” consists of 16 episodes and was collaborated by Keyeast (BYJ’s agent), JYP Entertainment (PJY’s agent), and CJ Media. It also has been known that BYJ appears in this drama and PJY handles the music part but plans to appear as an actor.

Someone related to the drama said, “They are of the same age, born in 1972, and decided to plan and push forward this drama from the trust and chemistry of the Hallyu project between them. It’s hard to say that it has been confirmed, but we expect the talented PJY to present a characterful performance unless there are unexpected changes.” PJY will broaden his area as an actor, not only a singer and producer since his debut in 1994.

“Dream High” will start with the hypothesis that if there is an art school like LaGuardia High School which produced many American top stars like Al Paccino, Jennifer Aniston, etc. Using the Kirin Art School in Korea as its background, it is the youth drama portraying the growing process of four talented students becoming world stars. Two female students and two male students will compete for friendship and love, and one of them eventually will be the winner of the Grammy Awards Album of the Year in 2007. Just like Rain in Korea became a world star, Kay in the drama will become the idol star worldwide. The drama will be processed with the format tracing the school days of Kay.

Bae Yong Joon will take a role of Jung Ha Myung, a director of the Kirin Art School, who has “Midas hands” that find stars with his remarkable eye. The teachers of the Kirin Air School including Jung Ha Myung, make the secret organization like the movie “Man in Black” and try to find the gifted students who have the talents of the stars like the aliens. Park Jin Young will take the role of Jin Man who once dreamed of becoming a star like Mr. John Keating in the movie “Dead Poet Society”. He fell in love with the mother of one of his students and married her, but he is suffering from loneliness because he lost his wife in an accident. But he respects the dream and personality, finds Kay and concentrates in teaching him.

Someone related to the drama said, “We’ll select the leading student roles and supporting actors/actress through the audition and start the shooting at the earliest in autumn. But, there is a prediction that the members of the Wonder Girls and 2PM who are the real students of PJY will have important roles, so the acting competition between the teacher and students will become a hot topic again.

Amidst all the dramas coming out soon, we have yet another one to look forward to! However, this one might take awhile.

Bae Yong Joon and Park Jin Young/JYP will work together on a drama, that is their companies KeyEast and JYP Entertainment are working on this joint project.

Both companies have already decided upon the drama name as Dream High. The drama’s storyline circulates around the students of a prestigious arts high school and the drama and friendships that embody their high school lives.

Although it may seem like the production of this drama has already started rolling, the production progress has been slower than they had hoped for. In fact, the drama contract had been signed in January and filming was supposed to have started in the first half of the the year. Perhaps it had to do with the JYPE controversy?
Maybe not.

However, they have revealed that they will begin filming in the second half of the year.

In light of the drama, an official stated, “The synopsis and script have both been completed. With this unique and dynamic story set in a high school, we’re expecting to receive good responses. We are currently getting ready to film later this year and we are discussing which actors to cast for this drama production.”

With KeyEast housing many rookie actors/actresses and JYPE with top idol groups, can we expect some of our favorite stars to feature in the drama? A JYPE associate stated, “As it is not related to the drama, we have not decided yet.”

A related officer said, “A draft of the synopsis and script came out. Dynamic stories, which are different than the existing school dramas, are included. We expect good results. We are speeding up the preparation work to start filming in the later part of this year, and we’re discussing the casting of the leading roles.”

‘Dream High’ is the first drama that Keyeast, BYJ’s management company, and JYP Entertainment, JYP’s enterprise, collaborated on. It’ll be the school drama which describes the friendship and hardships of talented art school students. They made the co-production contract to produce the drama in January of last year to broadcast it in the first part of this year, but it was a bit delayed.

Recently, the synopsis came out and the discussion about the leading roles sped up because the synopsis allowed us to visualize the film in the later part of this year. As expected, the many entertainers from Keyeast and JYP’s company came forward in this drama.

In Keyast, there are many new faces including ‘Little Ko Soo’ Kim Soo Hyun, Na Hye Mi of ‘High Kick without hitch’, and Yoo Seol Ah. In JYP Entertainment, there are many idol stars including 2PM, Wonder Girls, and 2AM. Especially, If Soolong of 2AM and Taek Yeon of 2PM receive good acting evaluation in 'Individual’s taste’ and ‘Cinderella Sister.’ as a side work, their participation in the drama will be more likely. However, some fans don’t support JYP’s advancement to the acting field because of JaeBom’s release from 2PM. Someone from JYP's company said, “Casting relating the drama hasn’t been decided yet.”
