[News] Lee Min Ho’s City Hunter in jeopardy?
As reported a month ago, Lee Min Ho will play in next year SBS drama City Hunter, an adaptation from popular Japanese manga.
But, it seems the drama pushes a brake.
Rumor has it that City Hunter needs a re-examination. The official from City Hunter says that they have been reviewed this internally.
Why all the sudden this happens?
It’s because Lee Min Ho’s role in City Hunter, a playboy detective who solve city’s crimes has many similarities with Rain’s role in Fugitive : Plan B which is airing in Korea now.
Anyone who already watched Fugitive, must have bold impression from Rain’s character there, a very cartoon and super playboy personal investigator/ detective Ji Woo.
And many thought that it wasn’t a good start for City Hunter,t hat Lee Min Ho’s version of playboy detective will always be compared to the Rain’s.
Or maybe the production team realized that a story about a playboy detective is unpopular for Korean audience. That theory has been proved with Fugitive’s rating which tanked since its debut. Started with solid 22% rating, the last aired episode of Fugitive (episode only got 11%.
But, since this’s only a rumor, we’ll see next whether City Hunter will make it or not.
