So Ji-sub will be releasing a photo essay about starring in his upcoming movie "Always," according to the book's promoter 3HW on Thursday.

3HW announced that the book titled “So Ji-sub's 'Always,'" featuring photographs, notes and commentary on playing his character Chang Chul-min in his film “Always,” will go on sale today.

"So Ji-sub's 'Always,'" divided into five chapters, will be about So being presented with the script for "Always," "Being One with Chul-min," "Becoming Chul-min," "Differences between Chul-min and So Ji-sub" and the epilogue.

"Always," helmed by director Song Il-gon, tells the story of Chul-min (So) an ex-boxer who falls in love with Ha Jung-hwa, played by Han Hyo-joo, who gradually loses her eyesight due to an accident.

The pic, set to open in local theaters today, was selected as the opening feature at this year's Busan International Film Festival held earlier this month.

Known as one of the most popular actors in Korea, So made his debut in 1996 and has since appeared in a number of TV dramas and movies. He rose to stardom in Korea and throughout Asia through his roles in "Glass Slipper," "I'm Sorry, I Love You" and "Cain and Abel."

So had previously released a photo essay titled "The Journey of So Ji-sub" which revealed photographs and stories from his trip to the demilitarized zone (DMZ) and various regions in the Gangwon Province, the eastern region of Korea.

He received a special achievement award from the Korean Tourism Organization In July for promoting Korean culture through the book.
