From Dec. 30-31, actor Park Shin-yang will hold a concert at the COEX mall in southeastern Seoul. The event, called “Park Shin-yang’s First Actor’s Concerto,” will also feature appearances by actors who starred alongside Park in the hit drama “Lovers in Paris.”
Cast members Lee Won-jong, Um Jee-won, Kim Hyung-bum and Wang Bit-na from the 2004 SBS hit drama will participate in the concerto. In addition, the band POE, which contributed to many songs found on the series’ original soundtrack, will perform at the event.
The actors will also take to performing popular tunes from the soundtrack and will discuss with fans certain behind-the-scenes moments from the television show.
Proceeds from the concerto will help fund a scholarship set up by Park that distributes money to needy students who want to study creative arts.
Park played the lead role in “Lovers in Paris,” which launched his career in Korea, Japan and China. The 43-year-old celebrity is a popular icon in Japan, and along with various Hallyu stars, he sent his condolences to survivors of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami that terrorized the country earlier this year.
