[News] “Salaryman” ends run by shattering own record.

SBS’ drama “Salaryman, Cho Han Ji” finished its run this week after shattering its own rating records and nabbing the top spot on the Monday and Tuesday primetime lineup.

On Wednesday, data by TNmS (Total National Multimedia Research Statistics) showed that "Salaryman," which kicked off its premiere on January 2, held onto the No. 1 spot after marking 24.2 percent of the audience tune in last night, a two percentage point rise from Monday.

Starring Lee Beom-soo and Jung Ryeo-won, the drama had a slow start when it first aired in January, later gatheting fair amount of audience viewership, and got extended by two episodes.

New SBS' series "Fashion King," starring actors Yoo A-in, Shin Se-gyeong, Lee Je-hoon and K-pop group Girls' Generation member Yuri, will take over the Monday and Tuesday primetime lineup starting next week.

MBC’s 50-part series “Light and Shadow” bowed in second place with an average viewership rating of 15.6 percent while KBS “Dream High 2” continued to stumble at the bottom of the chart with an average rating of 5.7 percent, according to TNmS.

Meanwhile, figures by AGB Nielson Research Media’s reported that “Salaryman” was No. 1 with ratings of 21.7 percent on Tuesday, seeing an increase of 1.6 percent from the previous day, while “Light and Shadow,” which features actors Ahn Jae-wook, Son Dambi and Nam Sang-mi, stayed in the No. 2 spot with ratings in the 17 percentile range and “Dream High 2” drew in the lowest number, averaging ratings in the six percentile range.]
