KBS' “Seo-young, My Daughter” is securing broadcaster's long-term domination on the weekly TV ratings chart.

The weekend family drama reigned atop the chart after capturing 32.2 percent of total viewers in the second week of October, according to data polled by TNmS [Total National Multimedia Statistics] Monday.

Last week's episodes told the heartbreaking story of Seo-young [played by Lee Bo-young] getting married without her father [Chun Ho-jin] knowing about it due to her unresolved hatred towards him.

After Seo-young tells her brother about the secret wedding, he gets upset and tells her that they will never see each other again.

Sitting at No. 2 was the same broadcaster’s daily series “Reaching for the Stars” which attracted 29.2 percent of the viewers in the same time frame.

The soap opera, starring Jo Dong-hyuk and Seo Ji-hye, has three weeks more left to see the grand ending of 129 episodes, which was extended from 120 episodes due to its popularity.

KBS’ Sunday comedy show “Gag Concert” ranked at No.3 with the viewership of 22.4 percent, pumped up by its guests K-pop duo TVXQ! and Chinese actress Cecilia Cheung.

While KBS 9 o’clock News slipped down to the fourth place after earning 20.9 percent of the total viewers, SBS’ variety show “I Like Sundays” jumped up to the fifth position by posting 19.5 percent.

Other popular programs from last week are MBC’s weekend series “May Queen,” MBC’s daily morning series “Angel’s Choice,” MBC’s variety program “Infinite Challenge,” SBS’ daily series “Still You” and KBS’ Wednesday and Thursday series “The Innocent Man.”

In the meantime, AGB Nielson Media Research's data showed slightly different order from the TNmS’ during the same time period.

While “Seo-young, My Daughter” grabbed the top seed with ratings of 29.3 percent, “Reaching for the Stars” and “KBS 9 o’clock News” followed next, each with 28.5 and 20.6 percent.
