The KBS drama "Seo-young, My Daughter" has stretched its winning streak for the 12th straight week on the weekly ratings chart.
The Park Hae-jin and Lee Bo-young starrer topped the chart with an average rating of 36.1 percent during the week of December 17 to 23, according to data polled by TNmS [Total National Multimedia Statistics] Monday.
The family drama is especially liked by middle-aged viewers with its delicate portrayal of a father-daughter relationship.
There is a pretty big gap between the elusive winner and the KBS daily series “Cheer Up, Mr. Kim!,” starring Shinhwa member Kim Dong-wan and actress Choi Jung-yoon which grabbed the runner-up title with 27.8 percent of total viewers.
Next up was the MBC weekend TV series “May Queen,” which earned the support of 24.2% during the same time frame.
While “KBS 9 o’clock News” landed at the No. 4 spot, the KBS comedy program “Gag Concert” rounded off the top five last week.
Other notable TV programs include MBC variety show “Infinite Challenge,” MBC Monday and Tuesday primetime series “The King’s Doctor,” KBS special news program “18th Presidential Election,” SBS comedy show “I Like Sundays” and “KBS Entertainment Awards.”
Meanwhile, AGB Nielson Multimedia Research showed the top three programs in the same order with slightly different figures from TNmS in the same period.
While “Seo-young” dominated the chart with 32.3 percent ratings, “Cheer Up” and “May Queen” followed next with 25.4 and 23.3 percent, respectively.
