The MBC series “The King’s Doctor” has secured its top status for 17 weeks in a row, while the new KBS drama “AD Genius Lee Tae Baek” started with lower-than-expected figures.

The period-set drama broke its own record and sat atop the Monday and Tuesday ratings chart with an average of 23.5 percent ratings during the week of February 4 and 5, TNmS [Total National Multimedia Statistics] showed Wednesday.

In Tuesday’s episode, Baek Gwang-hyun [Cho Seung-woo] and Gang Ji-nyeong [Lee Yo-won] reunited after three years and confirmed their love with sweet kisses.

With a noticeable gap between the chart-topper, the SBS series “Queen of Ambition” shot to No. 2 after pulling in an average of 14.9 percent ratings, seeing a rise of 3.7 percent from last week.

The cartoon-turned-drama is grabbing more attention by kicking off the serious revenge narrative of Ha Ryu [Kwone Sang-woo] to his one-time lover Joo Da-hae [Soo Ae], who left him behind to become the First Lady.

At the bottom of the chart was the new KBS series “AD Genius Lee Tae Baek,” starring Jin Goo and Park Ha-seon, which posted only 5.2 percent ratings in the same time frame.

Meanwhile, Nielsen Korea showed the three dramas in the same order with marginally different numbers from TNmS’ during the first week of February.

While “The King’s Doctor” grabbed the top seed with 23.3 percent, “Queen of Ambition” and “AD Genius” followed next with 14.0 and 4.3 percent, respectively.
