Hallyu star Kim Hyun-joong is likely to drop out of his small screen project “City Conquest.”

After a dispute regarding the cancellation of programming from KBS, Kim is weighing whether to pull himself from the TV series, his agency KEYEAST told TenAsia English on February 6.

The “Boys Over Flowers” star confirmed he would take the star role in the action-filled drama in May last year and devoted a considerable amount of time in filming in both Japan and Korea with co-stars Nam Goong-min and Jung Yu-mi.

In "City Conquest," the TV adaptation of the comic of the same name, the singer-turned-actor was originally to depict Baek Mir who goes through difficulties in life as an orphan.

In late January, the series’ production company Media Baek criticized KBS openly for cancelling its scheduled airing, saying that it’s tyranny on the part of the channel.
