Winter Sonata

This is a story about the memory of a first love. Yu Jin (Choi Ji Woo) is a happy teenager who is very carefree and strong. She loves to smile and make new friends. Kang Joon Sang (Bae Yong June) is a troubled teenager searching for the identity of his father. He is very cold and bitter because he grew up knowing that he is an illegitimate child. One day while riding the bus, Yu Jin and Kang Joon Sang meet for the first time. At first they are an unlikely couple, but later their chance meetings become a special bond that they share together. Something happens to Joon Sang and Yu Jin sinks into severe depression for the rest of her life. She is no longer the happy, cheerful girl that she used to be. Instead she lives her life in sadness and regret. Ten years later, on the evening of her engagement to Kim Sang Hyuk (her childhood friend), she sees a man that resembles Kang Joon Sang. She chases this stranger throughout the city and loses him in a busy crowded street. Is she seeing a ghost? Does she miss Joon Sang so much that pretense visions keep haunting her? Who is this man that looks like Joon Sang? Will Yu Jin put her entire life in jeopardy to chase a heart aching memory of her first love?

They say that your first love is the most difficult to forget because the memories are your first. This drama will tear your heart apart and make you feel every emotion that Yu Jin and Joon Sang feel. This was the very first korean drama that I've ever watched and to this day, I still regard this drama as a classic. My attention was mesmorized by the spectacular story and beautiful cinematography. Winter Sonata is definetely one of my top favorite korean dramas.
