To each and every single question posed to him, he replies with such sincerity and respect, and he never ever just patronizes the reporter with just a couple of casual words. His choice of words is weighted and very careful, he would repeat and clarify if there're parts in his reply that are not easy to understand, and he would also vary the way he speaks, the highs and the lows, the strong and the gentle. And at the same time, he would also change his tone ever so slightly, just as he would change the phrases he's chosen to express himself. In this way, the time taken to answer each question is inevitably long, and there is also no pause in between answers. The spirit that he has conveyed to us, is that when he has to speak, he will make sure he speaks completely and clearly, no half-messages and no ambiguity.
There was this conversation. When talking about the charity events and issues about protecting the earth, he had purposely spoken with more force and weight. He asked himself (aloud), "The presents that fans give me, are they be used to help the needy or to help protect the environment?"
Almost immediately he said, "Hope that the family will not feel lonely, and hope that they will not think that I'm slighting or disapproving of their deeds and gifts." And he clarified these points repeatedly.
During that time, his expression, his voice and his gestures... I most definitely did not see anything that signalled that he was looking down upon or slighting the family who were giving him the gifts. I could also see his desperate wish not to let the family misunderstand him, and his earnest wish to pass on the right message to the family. If he had not imagined that his words may possibly be misunderstood or misconstrued into something else, he would not have said or clarified what he did.
An issue can be many issues at the same time. During the interview, there were many similar instances where his imagination was at play. You can also say he has a careful, meticulous, detailed and upright character, and all these characteristics are displayed in the way he thinks about and cares for the society and also the fans, and also all the way from the reporters, to the interpreters and also the staff, etc. I believe it is because of these personality traits as the foundation that have created his rich imagination (and ability to link things and issues).
The theme of his Japan visit this time is TWSSG. The special premium event, the press conference, the interviews... each time, there're many questions that have been asked repeatedly. But if you were to listen or read carefully, you will notice that each of his reply is slightly different, he would deftly and cleverly change his choice of words and also the way he expresses his thoughts. John Lennon, in his famous song Imagine, had also tried to calmly appeal to people to try and imagine. I suppose imagination or to try and imagine is a very important component in our pursuit to enrich our lives and our society.
