Kim Yeon Ah got first pIace as the figure that has brought glory to Korea since its liberation.
On the night of 15th of August, the KBS ‘Entertainment Broadcasting’ performed a survey to honor the 64th anniversary of National Liberation Day. In a survey of 12,434 people, Kim Yeon Ah got 3342 votes (26.9%) for 1st pIace as ‘the figure that has brought glory to Korea’, Park Ji Sung got 2259 votes (18.2%) for 2nd pIace, and Bae Yong Joon got 1517 votes (12.2%) for 3rd pIace.
This was resulted from the survey by KBS Broadcasting Culture Research Institute that ‘Entertainment Broadcasting’ asked for. It was performed for 3 days, from the 8th to the 10th of August, to 12,434 people between the ages of 12 to 60.
Bae Yong Joon, who got 3rd pIace, is an unrivaled figure in Asia. He was an idol star in the mid 1990s, and caused the ‘Yonsama’ boom through the drama ‘Winter Sonata’ in the 2000s in Japan. Some singers advanced to Japan before, but the term, ‘Hallyu’ was born by him and he became the main star of Hallyu fever. The vision of the entertainment industry was broadened by him and it led Hallyu stars to advance to Japan, China, Southeast Asia, and now even to Hollywood.
