Athena: Goddess of War (아테나: 전쟁의 여신) is an upcoming South Korean espionage television drama series set to be broadcast by SBS in 2010. The series is a spin-off of 2009's Iris and has been budgeted at 20 billion won ($17 million USD) like its predecessor, making them the two most expensive Korean dramas ever produced.

Starring Soo Ae, Jung Woo-sung, Cha Seung-won, and Lee Ji-ah, the series is expected to film in a number of overseas locations, including Rome, Venice, Singapore, Switzerland, New Zealand, China and Japan. Set in the same universe as its predecessor, it was revealed in May 2010 that characters from Iris may appear in the series.

Soo Ae as Yoon Hye-in
A double agent working with the NTS in addition to being a spy for a secret organization, Yoon Hye-in is said to be cold and calculating.

Jung Woo-sung as Lee Jeong-woo
A special agent with South Korean intelligence under the NTS (National Anti-Terror Service), Lee Jeong-woo is said to be as intelligent and adaptable as the protagonist of his predecessor's series, but with the suave of James Bond.

Cha Seung-won as Son Hyeok
The head of an international terrorist organization known as Athena, Son Hyeok operates with an unknown agenda. Due to their being on opposing sides, he quickly becomes the nemesis of Lee Jeong-woo.

Lee Ji-ah as Han Jae-hui
A woman working abroad, Han Jae-hui works with in the European branch of the NTS as a spy and develops relationships with her three corresponding male and female characters.

Kim Min-jong as Kim Gi-soo
A North Korean intelligence officer stationed in China, Kim Gi-soo is unexpectedly captured by South Korean agents and subsequently defects to the South. He grows close with Lee Jeong-woo as a result, befriending him and becoming his closest ally and partner.

Choi Si Won as Kim Joon Ho
A newbie to the spy agency NTS who starts out as a data analyst and dreams of becoming a spy. Kim Jun Ho will be playing an attractive data analyzing agent at a secret organization by the name of NTS, and will also perform some hardcore action near the end of the show.

Lee Bo-young as Cho Soo-yeong
A daugter of President of Republic of Korea.Jo Soo-young is a free-spirited individual who studies abroad in Italy, where people there do not know she is the Korean president’s daughter. She leads a life of a normal student, just with some secret service agents watching her from afar.
