นักแสดงหนุ่มซุปเปอร์สตาร์แห่งเกาหลีใต้ "จางดองกัน" (Jang Dong Gun) เตรียมเปิดตัวกับผลงานระดับฮอลลีวูดเรื่องแรกของตนเอง ด้วยหนังแอ็กชั่นย้อนยุค "The Warrior's Way" จากการสร้างของผู้กำกับเกาหลีใต้ และทีมงานฮอลลีวูด ที่มีกำหนดเข้าฉายในปลายปีนี้ ที่ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา
บริษัทเอเยนซี่ใหญ่แห่งหนึ่งในเกาหลีใต้ Wellmade Star M ได้ออกมาแถลงเมื่อวันศุกร์ที่ 13 ส.ค. ที่ผ่านมาว่า The Warrior's Way ภาพยนตร์ภาษาอังกฤษเรื่องแรกของ จางดองกัน พระเอกหนุ่มวัย 38 ปี ซุปเปอร์สตาร์แดนโสม เตรียมเปิดฉายที่สหรัฐอเมริกาในวันที่ 3 ธ.ค. นี้
The Warrior's Way เป็นผลงานการกำกับ และเขียนบทของคนทำหนังชาวเกาหลี ลีซึงมู ที่เริ่มต้นถ่ายทำในประเทศนิวซีแลนด์ และโอคแลนด์ ตลอดทั้งเรื่องมาตั้งแต่ปี 2007 จากทุนสร้างสูงถึง 40 ล้านเหรียญฯ เล่าเรื่องแนวคาวบอยผสมแฟนตาซีเกี่ยวกับตัวละครที่ชื่อว่า หยาง (รับบทโดย จางดองดัน) นักดาบหนุ่มชาวเอเชีย ที่เดินทางรอนแรมเพื่อหลีกหนีจากอดีตอันเจ็บปวดของตนเอง มาถึงเมืองบ้านป่าเมืองเถื่อนแห่งหนึ่งในถิ่นตะวันตกของอเมริกา และกลับต้องมาเปิดศึกกับกลุ่มโจรป่าเจ้าถิ่น
ภาพยนตร์เรื่องดังกล่าวยังมีนักแสดงฮอลลีวูดชื่อดังมากมาย อาทิ เคท บอสเว็ร์ธ, แดนนี่ ฮุสตัน และ เจฟฟรีย์ รัช ร่วมแสดงด้วย โดยหนังเป็นผลงานการสร้างร่วมของบริษัทจากเกาหลีใต้ Wellmade Star M และ Relativity Media บริษัทผลิตภาพยนตร์ชื่อดังแห่งหนึ่งของฮอลลีวูด เจ้าของผลงานอย่าง Salt ที่แสดงนำโดย แอนเจลินา โจลี และกำลังกวาดเงินมหาศาลทั่วโลกในขณะนี้ รวมถึง Public Enemies หนังอาชญากรรมที่นำ จอห์นนี เดปป์ และ คริสเตียน เบล มาประชันบทบาทกันเมื่อปีก่อน
ขณะที่ Wellmade Star M บริษัทเอเยนซี่ในเกาหลีใต้ ที่เคยปั้นให้ ฮาจีวอน และ คิมนัมจู โด่งดังเป็นพลุแตก ได้เริ่มต้นลงทุนในการผลิตสื่อโทรทัศน์ และภาพยนตร์มาตั้งแต่ปี 2007 และมี The Warrior's Way เป็นความหวังของบริษัทสัญชาติเกาหลีแห่งนี้ ในการเปิดตัวสู่ตลาดโลก ด้วยการร่วมลงทุนไปถึง 10 ล้านเหรียญสหรัฐฯ เลยทีเดียว

Hallyu Star Jang Dong Gun’s Hollywood debut movie ‘The Warrior’s Way’ (formerly titled ‘Laundry Warrior’ is going to premiere in North America’s theaters on December 3, according to the movie’s investor Wellmade Star M on Friday.
‘The Warrior’s Way’ is a fantasy action flick which tells about a swordsman named Yang (played by Jang), who hides out in a forgotten America town in the west to avoid his bloody past but gets involved in a battle with a local group of bandits.
The movie directed and written by Lee Seung Mo, stars some of Hollywood’s biggest names including Kate Bosworth, Danny Huston and Geoffrey Rush.
In July, the movie’s distribution rights in the U.S. has been bought by American firm Relativity Media, co-producers of Hollywood blockbusters ‘Salt’ (2010) starring Angelina Jolie and ‘Public Enemies’ (2009) starring Johnny Deep.
Wellmade Star M is actually a Korea-based talent management agency in charge of the careeres of actors Ha Ji Won and Kim Nam Joo but the firm crossed riskily into television and movie production starting 2007 through ‘The Warrior’s Way’, where they have invested 10 million dollars.
