...Hallyu began roughly 12 years ago when the rest of Asia discovered Korean soap operas. One of the breakthrough dramas was a series 'Winter Sonata' starring Choi Ji-woo & Bae Young-Joon. After that, more Korean dramas saw their way to foreign shores and Korean films and music started to follow suit. Korean marketing people started to see a Korea-centric trend. Stars gather for 15th Pusan International Film Festival

The 15th Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) kicked off this evening, on the 7th of October at the Busan Haeundae Sooyoungman Yachting Stadium, as stars turned out in full force to show their support for one of the most prestigious and largest film festivals in the Asian region.
While there was the usual line-up of top actors and actresses, there was also the unusual sight of idol stars who had starred in movies in the past year or so.
Those who attended include: Yoo In Na, Han Ji Hye, Jung Jun Ho, Han Hye Jin, Jeon Do Yeon, Jo Yeo Jung, Gong Hyo Jin, Min Hyo Rin, Son Ye Jin, Choi Jong Won, Lee Min Jung, Lee Yo Won, Goo Hye Sun, Lee Sun Hyun, Choi Kang Hee, Hwang Woo Seul Hye, Park Bo Young, Park Soo Jin, Yunjin Kim, Soo Ae, Yoo Ji Tae, Park Sol Mi, Kim Hyun Joo, Ji Sung, T.O.P, Seulong, Won Bin, Kim Sae Rom, Baek Sung Hyun, Lee Jong Hyun, Kang Min Hyuk, Son Ho Young and more. Tang Wei, Aoi Yu, and Zhang Yimou were among the foreign stars this year.
Asia’s largest cinema festival will feature 308 films from 67 countries, and it will have a record number of 103 world premieres. The festival will run until October 15th.
